[Commentary] On June 12, Li Zhiying, the founder of "One Media" in Hong Kong, went to the Hong Kong High Court again to apply for changes to bail conditions, and proposed to temporarily withdraw the prohibition on leaving the country and allow him to go to the United States. The judge eventually rejected his application and said he would postpone the issue of written reasons to explain the reasons for the decision.

[Commentary] Li Zhiying, known as the leader of "Anti-China Chaos Port", was accompanied by a lawyer to the High Court that day. At the court, Li Zhiying's representative lawyer did not disclose when Li requested to go to the United States and the specific destination.

[Commentary] It is understood that Li Zhiying, 72, is involved in four criminal cases and faced a total of seven charges, including inciting, organizing, and participating in multiple unauthorized assembly. He was also charged with a crime of criminal intimidation. The case alleges that he was near a music kiosk in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong on June 4, 2017. He threatened a reporter who said that he would cause personal injury and intended to frighten the reporter. The case has been scheduled to open in the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court on August 19, and the trial is expected to take three days. Once Li Zhiying is convicted, the maximum fine is HK$2,000 and imprisonment for two years.

When the judge ruled earlier, he allowed Li Zhiying to bail in cash of HK$4,000 and banned leaving Hong Kong during bail. However, when the case was tried on May 5, Li Zhiying proposed to withdraw the ban on departure, saying that the amount of bail can be increased by 25 times, that is, 100,000 Hong Kong dollars, but it was still rejected by the judge and he was not allowed to stay during the trial. Leave Hong Kong.

Ding Huang, a member of the National Hong Kong and Macao Research Association and a Hong Kong practicing lawyer, said that Li Zhiying faced serious charges and sufficient evidence, and had a higher probability of being convicted. He did not rule out the possibility of abstaining from his security. Although the defendant has a lot of property and business in Hong Kong, the court should carefully consider whether to allow the arrested person to leave the country.
