Earlier this year, Canadian writer and activist Naomi Kleins In flames: a fire talk to the world for a green new deal while her American author colleague Jonathan Safran Foer is up to date with "We Are The Climate". They are two of many examples of writers who have recently written about the need for change.
Here in Sweden, Jesper Weithz is one of the writers who has taken the climate issue into the literature. The novel 2020 is a humorous portrayal of how mankind uses increasingly imaginative solutions to deal with rampant environmental degradation.
- This distance between how much we know about what is threatening us and the little that actually happens can make one crazy. In that field of tension, I have wanted to go into a novel world and shape the absurd situation we are in, ”says Jesper Weithz.
