The General Directorate of Health communicated Friday evening its assessment of the coronavirus epidemic. She notes the continuing decline in hospitalizations. A total of 28,714 people died after contracting the Covid-19.

According to figures released Friday evening by the Directorate General of Health, the assessment of the coronavirus epidemic shows 28,714 dead in total, or 52 more in 24 hours. The number of patients admitted to intensive care fell again: 68 beds have been released since Thursday, 1,361 patients are still admitted to these services. The epidemic ebb continues.

Updated figures for Ehpad

Among the 28,714 victims, 18,387 died in hospital establishments and 10,327 in social and medico-social establishments. For the latter, the figures have been updated by the authorities therefore appear to be lower than the balance sheet from the previous day.

A total of 14,695 people are hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection and 255 new admissions were recorded in 24 hours. If 29 new serious cases were admitted to intensive care, the balance remains negative with 68 fewer patients: 1,361 people remain hospitalized in intensive care.

Four regions account for 73% of patients hospitalized in intensive care: Ile-de-France, Grand-Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and Hauts-de-France. In Guadeloupe, Guyana, Reunion, Martinique and Mayotte, there are 124 hospitalizations, including 21 in intensive care.

Since the start of the epidemic, 101,390 people have been hospitalized, including 17,904 in intensive care. 67,803 people were able to return home.
