Cultural places, closed due to the coronavirus epidemic, will be able to gradually reopen their doors to the public as of June 2. This was announced on Thursday by Edouard Philippe during the presentation of the second phase of deconfinement.

Museums and monuments will be reopened "across the territory" from June 2 and the wearing of masks will be mandatory, announced the Prime Minister.

"In green areas, theaters and theaters will open from June 2," added Edouard Philippe, adding that wearing a mask will be mandatory and that "the rules of physical distance will have to be respected by a specific organization of seats, flow management in accordance with health protocol ”.

In departments classified as "orange", this reopening will not be possible from June 22, the date set for the third stage of deconfinement.

National reopening of cinemas on June 22

Cinemas will once again be able to welcome audiences all over the territory from June 22, the Prime Minister announced. "The cinema operators themselves wanted the reopening to be national so as to be able to organize the programming of theaters," said Edouard Philippe, while certain deconfinement measures are differentiated between the green zones and the orange zones of the territory.

"Our biggest adversary is large gatherings in confined, covered places," said the Prime Minister, specifying that for concert halls, it will be the responsibility of operators to implement health security measures (traffic , distancing ...) necessary for reopening. Or to decide not to reopen is not possible.

The cultural and sporting events organized in the public space will remain “suspended until June 21 at least and throughout France”, he continued. Discos, stadium games rooms, racetracks, "whose very essence is to bring people together in a festive spirit, will remain closed to the public until at least June 21".
