[Explanation] Shi Yuming, a young man from Hefei who is suffering from congenital hearing impairment, is a sign language instructor at the Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu, and the only one in Chengdu who can explain multi-language sign languages. His appearance changed the current situation that local museums do not have "sign language guides", so that deaf tourists can also enjoy the best visiting experience through "sign language guides".

On May 21st, Chengdu Jinsha Ruins Museum welcomed 5 hearing impaired tourists. Shi Yuming explained to them "sounding emotions". The tourists watched Shi Yuming intently and asked questions from time to time. After getting answers, they nodded again and again. .

In July 2007, Shi Yuming came to Chengdu with his wife. The Jinsha site culture in Chengdu has always fascinated him. As long as he has hearing impaired friends coming to Chengdu, he will take them to visit. However, because he did n’t know much about the history and culture of the Jinsha site, Shi Yuming wanted to find a staff member who could explain the sign language, but found that the museum did not provide sign language interpretation services. That is, at that time, he had the idea of being a sign language interpreter. .

[Same period] (Shi Yuming, the instructor of the Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu) In July 2011, I had the idea of being a sign language instructor. I was also worried that the non-counter-part major would be rejected by the museum. But I was still trying. Mao recommended to contact the Jinsha Site Museum and was hired as the first sign language interpreter in the museum.

[Explanation] After taking up the post, Shi Yuming also worked as a librarian. In order to study the history and culture of the Jinsha site in depth, he would always go to the library to find related books after work and make adequate preparations for the explanation.

Shi Yuming said that because sign language interpretation is more professional than daily sign language communication, it needs to be "instructed by others" in terms of the depth, focus, expression, and emotional use of the content.

[Same period] (Shi Yuming, an instructor at the Jinsha Ruins Museum in Chengdu) In the sign language explanation, I will give different kinds of explanations for hearing impaired tourists of different cultural backgrounds and special ages to make them easy to understand. To explain in detail in key places or places of interest to answer their questions.

【Explanation】 After becoming a sign language instructor, Shi Yuming found that foreign tourists from all over the world were often received here. In order to help foreign hearing-impaired tourists understand the culture of Sands in depth, Shi Yuming began to learn international sign language by himself.

[Same period] (Shi Yuming, the instructor of the Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu) Sign language is not universal in the world. Chinese sign language has 30 pinyin letters, while international sign language has only 26 letters. Because of the difference in writing system, regional culture and folk customs, Different sign language and finger language are formed. For example, "I love you" in Chinese sign language is composed of 3 actions, while international sign language is composed of one gesture, that is, the middle finger and ring finger are bent, and the other fingers are erected.

[Commentary] As the number of foreign tourists has increased, through continuous learning, Shi Yuming has also learned American Sign Language, Japanese Sign Language and so on. Shi Yuming has been on the way of learning. He is a photographer-like photographer who took charge of museum-related shooting work in 2014. He recently shot small videos explaining sign language for dozens of key cultural relics in Jinsha. Shi Yuming said he loves this job and the ancient Shu culture.

[Same period] (Shi Yuming, the instructor of Chengdu Jinsha Ruins Museum) I have been working in Jinsha Ruins Museum for 9 years. I love this job because I can provide deaf friends with sign language interpretation services to let them understand and understand historical knowledge in depth. In addition, the explanation work is still very difficult for me, especially for the explanation skills of foreign deaf tourists, but I will continue to study and study, and hope that I will do more wonderfully in the sign language explanation work in the future.
