After the TV profile and author was arrested last week on suspicion of sex purchases and shortly thereafter himself talked about it in a television interview, he has lost several assignments. Now his publisher is also suspending his cooperation with him.

- After [the man] got caught up in a raid on suspected sex buyers, after a few days we decided to end the collaboration. All further sales of the cook and exercise books he has published in collaboration with the publisher have been stopped, says Adam Dahlin, literary director at Ester Bonnier who is part of the Bonnier Facts, to the site Boktugg.

Adam Dahlin writes in an e-mail to the Cultural News that "These are difficult balances and important decisions, but also sensitive because it concerns the collaboration between authors and publishers, which we do not discuss in the media".

No sales at internet bookstores

The TV profile and the author's titles are no longer available from the internet booksellers Akademibokhandeln, Bokus and Adlibris. On the Adlibris site, the books were first listed as a temporary end, something that happens automatically when a publisher enters and delistes a title, according to Elias Vieglins, PR manager at Adlibris.

- Adlibris has not made an active decision to remove them, that decision was made for us and all other dealers, by the publisher, he says.

Adlibris decided to remove the books from its online store because the publisher announced that the books will not be available again. Elias Vieglins tells us that online e-commerce is restrictive in removing titles from sales.

- Our policy is to remove a book if it contains, for example, incitement to ethnic groups, upbringing, child porn or plagiarism. But we also believe in the free word, he says.

- You have to look at the contents of the book and not the person behind it in many cases, but that is a difficult question. If you have to start removing some books, where do you end up?
