  • From Monday, several services will resume or be adapted to Lyon as part of the deconfinement.
  • In particular, parking will once again become partially chargeable.

From May 11, part of the daily life of Lyonnais will resume its course. Several sectors and activities, stopped during containment, will resume or be adapted. 20 Minutes takes stock of the things that will evolve from Monday.

Partially paying parking

The mayor of Lyon did not respond favorably to the request of several associations of traders who wanted to maintain free parking to facilitate the arrival of their customers, especially in the Presqu'Ile. From May 11, parking in the city will again pay for visitors. On the other hand, residents with a resident sticker will not pay to park their vehicle near their home, until June 30. As well as professional subscriptions remain free. "The stickers that expired during confinement will be extended by 60 days," said the municipality.

Moves again possible

Good news for all those who had to give up moving into a new habitat during containment. In Lyon, moves are again authorized. The moving parking request form is available online on the city's website.

A new “relay park / soft modes” formula for getting around

From Monday, the public transport offer will be significantly revised upwards. But to meet the travel needs of the many users, still reluctant to borrow the TCL, and avoid a massive carryover on the private car, a new formula has been implemented. From Monday and until the end of June, the city "encourages people to park their vehicle in the car parks at the entrance to Lyon and to use soft modes to end their journey". To encourage this, the town hall has developed a "Relay / soft modes park" offer, in conjunction with the operators of parking lots, Sytral and operators of electric scooters (Bird, Dott, Lime, Voi). This formula, which will allow users to benefit from a 30% reduction on the service of electric scooters, round trip, will be offered in five car parks: Vaise and Gorge de Loup train station in the west, P0 Cité Internationale car park in the north , Tony-Garnier and Mermoz-Pinel to the south and southeast.

Parks and gardens could reopen

The information remains to be confirmed. If this Thursday, the Rhône is one of the departments classified green on the map which will be presented by the government, the parks, public gardens and banks of the Rhône should be able to reopen to the public. Maybe gradually. The town hall awaits the announcements of Edouard Philippe today, to decide on the subject. Closed shortly after the start of confinement, the banks of the Rhône should reopen on Monday. But the Metropolis has already warned: If crowds and too many crowds, contrary to the rules of distance, are observed, this public space would be immediately closed. It will therefore be necessary to count on civility and everyone's responsibility to be able to enjoy this ride along the Rhône.
