• 2010.'Scrubs' says goodbye to the audience after nine years on the air

American actor Sam Lloyd , known for his role in the comic series 'Scrubs' , died at the age of 56, several American media reported this Saturday, which attributed his death to a brain tumor of which he was diagnosed last year.

Lloyd's agent confirmed his death to CNN television but did not clarify the cause of death, while Variety magazine assured that the interpreter was diagnosed in January 2019 with an inoperable brain tumor.

The cancer, detected a few weeks after his wife gave birth to their first child, eventually spread to his lungs, jaw, liver and spine , according to Variety.

Throughout his career, Lloyd had roles in such successful television series as 'Seinfeld', 'The West Wing', 'Modern Family', 'Desperate Housewives', 'Cougar Town' and 'Malcolm in the Middle' , in addition from the movies 'Flubber' and 'Galaxy Quest' .

But the role he was best known for was that of Ted Buckland , the lawyer for the Sacred Heart hospital in the series 'Scrubs,' known for his low self-esteem and his brush with the chief of medicine, Dr. Bob Kelso , played by Ken Jenkins .

The protagonist of that series, Zach Braff , defined Lloyd as "one of the funniest actors" with whom he has been able to work.

"Sam Lloyd made me laugh and step out of my character each and every time we had a scene together. I couldn't have been a kinder man . I will always fondly remember the time I spent with you, Sammy," Braff wrote on Twitter. .

Lloyd, who also played bass in the band 'The Butties' and sang a cappella in ' The Blanks' , was the nephew of Christopher Lloyd , the famous 'Doc' from 'Back to the Future' (1985).
