It is a real institution that had to close due to the coronavirus epidemic. But since Monday, the Beg Ar C'hra road stop has reopened on the banks of the RN12 near Plounévez-Moëdec, in the Côtes d'Armor. Established there for 150 years, it has been offering truck drivers a meal tray for a few days. Coronavirus forces them to eat it in their truck.

The owners of the establishment offer a meal every day to the many drivers who pass through this essential axis for the food supply of France. On the Tuesday noon menu: "as a starter, a tuna rice salad with an egg, as a main dish, a minced chicken with cream, and, for dessert, a homemade chocolate cake, lists Gaud Le Manchec establishment with her husband Erwan. They come for coffee afterwards. ”

"They need to speak, there is a lot of loneliness"

Located between Guingamp and Morlaix (Finistère), the roadhouse generally serves between 100 and 150 people each day. Since the reopening, 30 to 40 trays have been served. “We have free access to a shower and the toilet. The drivers are satisfied. When we talk to them about sandwiches, they tell us: enough sandwiches! We want a hot dish! Says the restaurateur.

“We can clearly sense that the truckers appreciate it. We talk a little, they need to talk. There is a lot of loneliness, ”says the restaurateur.
