Cumulative reduction and exemption of patent and trademark-related expenses for the whole year was 7.93 billion yuan.

The number of domestic valid trademark registrations reached 25.219 million, with an average of 1 registered trademark for every 4.9 market entities. According to relevant reports and data from the World Intellectual Property Organization, China's ranking in the 2019 global innovation index has risen to 14th place, up 3 places from 2018, ranking first among middle-income economies; in 2019, China passed the Patent Cooperation The Treaty (PCT) route filed 59,000 patent applications, ranking first in the world; it submitted 6,339 international trademark registration applications through the Madrid system, ranking third in the world.

Statistics show that in 2018, the added value of China's patent-intensive industries reached 10.7 trillion yuan, accounting for 11.6% of GDP, becoming an important support for high-quality economic development.   Yu Cike said that the "Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances" will take effect on April 28. This is the first international intellectual property treaty concluded in China and named after our country since the founding of New China. From June 20 to 26, 2012, the World Intellectual Property Organization held the "Diplomatic Conference on the Protection of Audiovisual Performances" in Beijing, China, and successfully concluded the "Beijing Audiovisual Performances Treaty." On January 28, 2020, Indonesia submitted a ratification letter to the World Intellectual Property Organization, becoming the 30th key member of the treaty. According to the entry into force of the "Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances", it will take effect three months after the 30 qualified parties have deposited their instruments of ratification or accession.

  He Zhimin said that the State Intellectual Property Office has issued specific implementation opinions on deepening the reform of “delegating services” in the field of intellectual property and creating a good business environment, and proposed 78 specific measures in 14 areas.
