The deconfinement card in France, according to the site "Le Guide Santé", relayed on Facebook. - Screen capture

  • A so-called interactive deconfinement map has been circulating on social media since Tuesday and questions internet users about its official nature.
  • It is actually a map made from scratch by a website, based on official data from Santé Publique France.
  • Please note that this is not a deconfinement map, the terms of which are to be detailed soon by the government.

Each passing day brings us a little closer to the end of confinement and, to know which sauce they are going to be eaten, Internet users scrutinize the slightest indication as to the methods of deconfinement. Since Tuesday, a card relayed on social networks presents 45 departments, out of the 96 metropolitan areas, as likely to be unconfigured from May 11.

After a first card published on Facebook and mentioned by Cyril Hanouna in one of his shows on April 6 - card which turned out to be false - Internet users have learned the lesson and are on their guard. "Uh info or fake news?" We know more, ”wonders a user on Facebook. "Where did you get this information?" Is it reliable? Asks another. 20 Minutes answers them.

FAKE OFF

This card is a forgery and for good reason: the deconfinement plan must be presented by the government at the end of the month only. It is being prepared under the aegis of senior official Jean Castex. The ministers concerned by the deconfinement gave Wednesday to Matignon a first version of their plans for after May 11 which will be integrated into a global project.

For his part, the President of the Republic gave some clues to the future deconfinement plan on the occasion of his trip to Brittany on Wednesday, mentioning in particular different measures "according to sectors of activity or according to regions". But for the moment, it's impossible to say what deconfinement will look like in France.

Wrongly presented as a deconfinement map, this infographic was published by a website called "The Health Guide", which ensures that the departments in blue are "eligible for deconfinement" on May 11, unlike those classified in red. The site claims to be based on data from the French public health agency ... which contains no indication of any deconfinement by department.

Explanation from the Health Guide: “We have decided to follow in the footsteps of the National Academy of Medicine, which recommends an end to confinement for regions where there is a marked decrease in the number of Covid-19 patients requiring hospitalization and a return of resuscitation needs in a pre-epidemic state ”, explain the authors of this map, who thus fabricated it from scratch from public data.If the Academy of Medicine actually recommended these criteria to set up deconfinement in France, nothing says that the government will follow this recommendation.

The site presents itself as "a health investigative medium, a health e-concierge, a guide for hospitalization" disseminating "news and quality information validated by the health authorities". But, at the same time, it describes itself as a "portal on healthcare establishments in France (directory, testimony and patient opinions, practical data)".

It is therefore difficult to know exactly where this site is located on the credibility scale of scientific publications. Not affiliated with the Alliance for press and media figures (unlike most online media), The Health Guide never appears in the list of specialized health sites validated by health professionals. sector. So be careful.
