Her silicone breast implant caused the ball to change course and undoubtedly saved the woman's life. That's what Giancarlo McEvenue told CNN.

This surgeon took care of an emergency patient two years ago. She had just been shot in the chest, shot at close range, while on a street in Toronto, Canada. But, by miracle and ricochet, she got out with only a broken rib and implants to change.

In a medical study on the subject published last week by SAGE Journals, a specialized journal, explains that during the operation, a wound was discovered and a bullet with a 0.40 caliber (10 mm) copper case was been removed under her right breast.

Scanned

According to the results of a CT scan, the bullet passed through the left implant to strike the right implant. "Based on the trajectory of the clinically observed ball and on the radiological evaluation, the only reason explaining the deviation of the ball is the left breast implant, explain the authors of the study. This implant covers the heart as well as the rib cage and therefore probably saved this woman's life ”.

"On the left side are the heart and lungs - if the bullet had gone into the chest, it would have had a much more serious and potentially fatal injury," said Giancarlo McEvenue at the CNN microphone.
