From the last speech by Emmanuel Macron, we especially remembered the start of deconfinement. But some young people must have felt relieved when they heard the exceptional help promised to the most vulnerable students. In fact, 30% of 18-30 year olds say they experience a drop in income due to the coronavirus crisis, according to the latest barometer “#MeYoung, confined and tomorrow? ", HEYME - 20 Minutes - OpinionWay *.

And if 70% of these young people are confident in the economic recovery, 63% of them will be slow. As a result, 35% of millennials believe that the crisis will have negative consequences on their future income. This figure even rises to 43% for 18-22 year olds, against 27% for 28-30 year olds.

The youngest are the most worried

And this is the main trend of this latest barometer: the youngest, those who are still students or just starting to work, are the most worried about the economic crisis: 41% of 18-22 year olds are thus convinced that 'It will have an impact on their near professional future, against 35% of 23-27 year olds and 31% of 28-30 year olds.

In the immediate future, 30% of 18-22 year-olds think that they will not find a job this summer, that they will not be able to finance their studies or pay their rent. And 15% of the same age group has seen an internship canceled or cannot find one.

If the deconfinement can make hope for a resumption of the activity, the young people remain very realistic vis-a-vis the situation, since only 17% of the 18-30 years were "impatient" at the announcement of a progressive deconfinement as from May 11 (19% for 18-22 year olds only) while 47% remained “skeptical” about this date (44% of 18-22 year olds).
