As an actor, Brian Dennehy radiated great physical pondus, not infrequently in roles such as police, private detectives or other criminal investigators, in films such as "Rambo - First blood", "Torpeden", "F / X - Deadly effect" and "Silverado".

His most well-known role was probably in the 1990 "Suspected of Murder" thriller, where he played Harrison Ford's boss. Dennehy was praised by critics for their nuances in depicting a hard-pressed man with dual loyalties.

During his long career, he was rewarded with a Golden Globe in 2001 for his role as Willy Loman in a TV film adaptation of Arthur Miller's play "Death of a salesman". Dennehy also received two Tony's and six Emmys for roles in popular TV series.

Towards the end of his life, he appeared inter alia in the television series "The blacklist".
