The level of exposure of the French to the waves has tended to remain stable or even decrease between 2018 and 2019, according to a study by the National Frequency Agency (ANFR) relayed in particular this Friday by BFMTV. Many feared an increase in this exposure due to the deployment of Linky meters or 5G.

In total, the ANFR measured the exposure of the public to radio waves in 3,020 points in France in 2019.

📘📖 The @ anfr study shows that the levels measured remain generally low, with a median exposure level at 0.38 V / m and 90% of the levels below 1.8 V / m.

Mobile telephony, the main source of measured exposure

Based on these measurements, the median exposure level was 0.38 V / m (volt per meter), compared to 0.40 V / m in 2018. In addition, 90% of the levels measured are below 1.8 V / m, a level well below the regulatory limit values which are between 28 V / m and 87 V / m. Mobile telephony, broadcasting services and WiFi are the three main sources of exposure to the airwaves.

As a reminder, anyone, individual or community, benefits from the possibility of having the exposure to electromagnetic waves measured for free in a building or a place accessible to the public.
