Zhu Ziqi was born on April 13, 1920 in Rucheng County, Hunan Province. Participated in the Anti-Japanese Activities in 1936 and published his debut poem "Roar, Lion Wake!" From 1938 to 1939, he studied at the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University and joined the Communist Party of China in April 1938.

In July 1949, Comrade Zhu Ziqi was elected as the representative of the writers of the Liberated Area, attended the first congress of all literary and artistic workers in China, and joined the Chinese Writers Association in the same year.

After the founding of New China, he served as Secretary of Comrade Bishi, and then served in the Central Ministry of Culture and the Bureau of Foreign Cultural Liaison of the Central Government Administration, the Chinese People ’s Defence World Peace Commission, the World Peace Council, the China Asia-Africa Solidarity Commission, the Asia-Africa Foundation and other offices. Since October 1981, Zhu Ziqi has been the Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Writers Association. In November 1982, he served as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Writers Association. He resigned in July 1986. He died of illness on October 11, 2008.

Zhu Ziqi's literary creation was fruitful throughout his life, and he published more than 20 poems and translations.
