According to reports, in order to protect the ecological and natural environment in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River and ensure the safety and stability of the Xiluodu reservoir area, the People ’s Government of Yongshan County issued the “Notice on Matters Relating to the Implementation of the Ban on the Jinsha River Yongshan Section” (hereinafter referred to as the “10-year ban order”) It is clear that from March 10, the 168.2-kilometer waters and various tributaries in the Yongshan section of the main stream of the Jinsha River will be banned for 10 years.

After the implementation of the ten-year ban, Yongshan County and Leibo County organized many joint law enforcement activities. On the 8th, the law enforcement departments of the two places again dispatched 12 law enforcement officers and 2 law enforcement ships in Wuji County, Huangshan County, Huanghua and Leibo County, Tiantianba, Yanjiao, Kahalo, and Wanguan Townships of Xiluodu Hydropower Station. In more than 90 kilometers of water in townships and towns, joint law enforcement was carried out. 260 pairs of illegal fishing nets, 280 pairs of ground nets, and 140 pairs of trawl nets were collected and destroyed. 18 people were criticized and educated on site, and one case was investigated.

Statistics show that since the implementation of the ten-year ban, law enforcement agencies in Yongshan and Leibo have collected and destroyed 1,123 pairs of various illegal fishing nets, removed 260 cages, temporarily detained 8 fishing boats, and destroyed kayaks. The three vessels, with more than 1,000 catties of fry, have greatly deterred illegal fishing, and played a very good role in publicity and education for the effective protection of aquatic wild resources in the Jinsha River Basin.
