What if Christopher Columbus, after touching the American coasts, had not returned to Europe? What if, in the 16th century, world history had turned the other way? What if the Incas crossed the Atlantic and invaded Europe? What if Atahualpa had subjected the Emperor Charles V and, with him, this continent plagued by hunger, war, religious quarrels? It is the story of a reversal of the world and another globalization book Laurent Binet, through a romantic plot, epic, erudite, philosophical and especially playful tad. The title of the book is also written like a famous video game. His book Civilizations is published by Grasset editions.

Report by Stéphane Geneste on the history of the famous video game Civilizations in which players have nearly 7,000 years to build a civilization, from a uchronic perspective, and create an empire by conquest, by science or culture.
