INTERVIEW

His songs have marked many generations of children. At 79, and despite a heart attack last November, Henri DA, who lives in Switzerland, is still in activity, and wishes to continue to maintain his bond with his fans during this period of confinement. This is why the artist decided to perform singing, every evening at 6 p.m., live on Facebook, for families trapped at home. An experience he told on Monday on Europe 1.

Living in Switzerland, Henri DA is not subject to the same constraints as the French, the Swiss authorities not having opted for confinement in the face of the coronavirus. "The government considered that people should be responsible and take matters into their own hands. We don't force them," he explains to the microphone of Europe 1. And if he has restricted his movements, the singer can still enjoy a large house with garden. "I feel a little sorry for the people who are confined to their homes in an apartment on the 5th floor with the children", he confides, "it must be very complicated".

It is also to help these families keep their spirits that the interpreter of cult titles like Chanson pour mon chien or Les bêtises à l'école , decided since March 19 to hum live on Facebook, every night at 6 pm hours, a song from his repertoire. And the initiative was a real viral success, the first video having been viewed more than 55,000 times

"People must try to guess the title"

"It is a big surprise," wonders Henri From, confident that the idea came to him two days before his first video. "Five minutes before the first live, I decided to make a kind of little game. I hum my song and people have to try to guess the title".

On Henri, Facebook is aimed at children as well as their parents. "I am fortunate to have had, around thirty years ago, an audience when it worked very well, I made quite a lot of Olympia", he analyzes, "and this audience now has 30-35 years old, and has children. " This is why his lives "are a little intergenerational", explains the Swiss. "" People are there with their kids and sing the songs like their children ".
