One of the ways many social media users communicate is that gargling with vinegar or warm, salt water saves the patient from the deadly virus. In response, the World Health Organization says there is no evidence to suggest that salt water destroys the Coronavirus.

The organization explains that there is some limited evidence that rinsing the nose with a saline solution (salt water) may help people recover from a cold faster, but this has not been shown to prevent respiratory infections.

Doctors at the Johns Hopkins Health Institute confirmed that gargling with salt water did not help protect against coronaviruses, including Corona virus. Although saltwater gargling has proven effective as a home remedy for sore throats, sore throats are not a common symptom when infected with the Coronavirus. There are no formal medical guidelines that recommend using salt, warm water or vinegar to get rid of the Corona virus, whether from specialized centers or even governments.
