Why this book?
- Because the author's dogma is "the transgressive free spirit driven by love". The news of Anaïs Nin brings an answer and echoes the diktats imposed on women and that is why it is resolutely modern with its heroines, powerful women who find a compromise between what they should be and what they want to be. This collection of short stories is the genesis of the author's leitmotif, the famous phrase "Fay ce que vouldras" borrowed from Rabelais.

The author. Anaïs Nin, born in 1903, is an American woman of letters of Franco-Cuban origin. She owes her notoriety to her diaries which offer a profound vision of her private life. She was also one of the first women to publish erotic works.
This book was read with. I read this book with admiration for the courage, the audacity and the talent of Anaïs Nin who, at the time when she writes this collection is a married woman, modern author apprentice writer of the beginning of the last century.
