British actor Idris Elba, 47, announced Monday that he has tested positive for the new coronavirus, although he says that for now he has not developed symptoms and feels well.
In a message on Twitter, the actor from movies like Avengers: Infinity War and series like The Wire reported that he has remained isolated since he discovered he may have been exposed to the virus.
"This morning I have tested positive on the COVID-19. I am fine, I have no symptoms at the moment," said the actor, who explained that he plans to stay home and "be pragmatic . "
"I will inform you about how I am doing. Don't panic," added Elba in a video released through social media.
The actor stressed the importance of maintaining "social distance" and washing hands to try to stop the spread of the virus.
"There are people out there (with the virus) who are not showing symptoms and that can easily spread it. Right now we must be very vigilant," he said.
