The director of the Department of Social Support Centers, Colonel Saeed Hamad Saleh Al Kaabi, stressed that the services provided by the centers in «Abu Dhabi - Al Dhafra - Al Ain» include psychological and social counseling, dealing with all types of psychological and physical abuse of the child and the family, and the speed of response when reporting family differences, bullying and urgent intervention And rehabilitation services for the abused.
It also includes qualifying provisions for cuddling and sheltering, providing a suitable place and a safe environment, while ensuring the psychological stability of the child, and his full right to see his parents, in addition to awareness services in forums, campaigns and events to raise awareness of the rights of the child and mechanisms for protecting him.
He pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Police is interested in programs to educate the child and the family with a diversified content that suits them, and to promote positive communication with innovative methods, distinct activities and scenarios implemented by the best standards, such as Safe Child City 2019, which is one of the initiatives to raise the level of child care with a legal system and legislation to protect it.
He said that the Department of Social Support Centers organizes training courses for the qualification and licensing of specialists, in accordance with the established standards, with the application of all the requirements approved in the United Arab Emirates, as well as workshops for relevant groups and direct contact with children, including teachers and social workers in schools to raise awareness and guidance, and early detection of abuse, Bullying cases, and reporting methods.
He stated that services are implemented through regulations and laws, according to a distinct security system, and development plans that fulfill the visions and aspirations of Abu Dhabi Police in preserving the gains, security and safety. He touched on the humanitarian and field work of psychological and social specialists in events and initiatives, providing consultations and direct communication with the public to obtain positive outcomes and the best results in spreading awareness. He pointed out that psychological and social support, and dealing with cases, is done in strict confidentiality, and seeking to solve them, and supporting positive and proactive behavior through awareness and focus on families.
