The spokesman added that the German government is in close contact with CureVac. Berlin is also trying to keep the company in Germany through financial offers. The company itself did not want to comment on this indirect US-German rivalry.
CureVac Biotechnology has been developing a vaccine against the emerging coronavirus (Covid19-) several weeks ago. "The arrival of this vaccine is one of our top priorities since last January," said company spokesman Torsten Scholler, adding that the company is confident of providing the vaccine until next summer, when it can be clinically tested after that.
