A significant drop in temperature is expected in Moscow next week, weather forecasters say.

As the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told RT, cold weather should be expected both at the beginning and at the end of the coming week.

“On Monday night, the temperature is -7 ... -9 ° C in Moscow, in the region - up to -12 ° C. But in the afternoon the temperature will be positive - + 2 ... + 4 ° C. On Tuesday and Wednesday during the day +2 ... + 5 ° С is expected, and at night 0 ... -3 ° С. On Thursday, the daytime temperature will increase - + 7 ... + 8 ° С, 0 ... + 2 ° С is forecasted at night, ”Villefand explained.

Calculations for the next weekend, continued the weather forecaster, indicate a night temperature of -1 ... -6 ° C and about 0 ° C during the day. However, Villefand is of the opinion that it is not worth talking about frosts.

“Only today and tomorrow will temperatures approach their long-term values. That is, those values ​​that are characteristic and peculiar to the European territory of the country. Everything that was before this, it was unusual, since the temperature was 10-12 ° C higher than normal, ”said the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center.

Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Moscow Meteoburo, spoke about the proximity of current weather to normal temperature values ​​in March. As the weather forecaster said in an interview with RT, over the next few days the air temperature will be slightly below or near the climatic norm.

“Now it is about -2 ° C of the average daily air temperature. In the next days from the beginning of the new week, atmospheric pressure in the metropolitan area will gradually increase, more gaps will appear in the clouds, ”said Pozdnyakova.

She continued that no significant rainfall is expected on Monday and Tuesday, and Monday night will remain cold. According to the weather forecaster, the temperature in Moscow will be within -5 ... -6 ° C, and in the region - even lower.

“As for daytime temperatures, the air temperature will begin to rise in the sun. If today in the afternoon it mostly remained negative, only in the center it was above 0 ° С, then tomorrow already in most of Moscow the temperature will be + 2 ... +4 ° С, although a dense north-west wind will remain. Starting on Tuesday, advection of warm air will increase and resume, ”Pozdnyakova predicts.

“This month under high atmospheric pressure is characterized by a large daily temperature course. Such weather with a large diurnal course awaits us next week. City services and transport

Amid worsening weather, city services switched to an enhanced mode of operation. The deputy mayor of Moscow for housing and public utilities and beautification Peter Biryukov said that the services have been given instructions to protect buildings and structures of the residential and non-residential stock, trade objects, advertising structures, construction equipment and construction projects from strong gusts.

Motorists in difficult weather conditions were asked to comply with traffic rules, not to exceed speed and to treat the movement of columns of snow-removing equipment with understanding.
