China News Service Taiyuan, March 10 (Reporter Hu Jian) The Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology released on the 10th that Shanxi archeologists found a large high-level tomb of the late Jin Dynasty in Wenxi County, Yuncheng, presuming it may be a monarch Lady tomb.

The tomb is located in the cemetery of Qiujiazhuang, Wenxi, Shanxi. During the archaeological exploration conducted by the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology, at least five large-scale tombs existed in the cemetery. One of the tombs has a large bottom, and the bottom of the tomb is about 18.8 meters away from the current surface. There is no tomb. The tomb entrance is 14.3 meters long from north to south and 13.5 meters wide from east to west. Above the tomb, there is a rammed earth building base and scattered water protection slopes composed of slabs and cylinder tiles. The rammed earth building base on the tomb is 26.6 meters long from north to south and 21.6 meters wide from east to west.

A total of more than 1,700 cultural relics have been excavated at the tomb. As the tomb was repeatedly stolen, no bronze rituals were found. All the unearthed artifacts were small objects, including pottery, copper, iron, gold, jade, stone, shellfish, bone, Feeder and so on. The shapes and ornaments of the unearthed utensils have obvious late Jin culture styles.

The tomb is currently the largest Dongzhou tomb excavated in Shanxi. According to the shape of the tomb and the unearthed artifacts, the date of the tomb is early Warring States Period. Coupled with the arrangement of a group of three tombs showing the characteristics of large and small sides, it is speculated that this tomb should be the tomb of a monarch in the late Jin Dynasty.

The five large tombs in the Qiujiazhuang cemetery that have been explored so far may all be the tombs of monarchs and wives of the Jin Dynasty, which is of great significance for advancing the study of Jin culture and history. (Finish)
