According to the Emergency Management Department, at 19:15 on March 7, a collapse occurred at Xinjia Express Hotel, Nanhuan Road, Changtai Street, Licheng District, Quanzhou, Fujian, and about 70 people were trapped. As of 21:00 on the 7th, 28 people have been rescued at the scene.

After receiving the report, Huang Ming, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Emergency Management Department, Shang Yong, deputy minister, and Qiong Se, a member of the Party Leadership Group, immediately went to the video connection site of the Command Center of the Ministry, dispatched the Fujian Provincial Emergency Management Office, and the Fire Rescue Corps, and demanded to organize rescue and treatment of the injured. To the greatest extent possible, reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by accidents, adopt scientific rescue measures to prevent secondary accidents, and ensure rescue safety; identify the causes of accidents, and pursue accountability in accordance with laws and regulations. The Office of the Security Council of the State Council has dispatched a working group led by Deputy Director Fu Jianhua to the scene to guide and assist local governments in the rescue operation.

The Fujian Fire Rescue Corps has dispatched 26 vehicles and 147 people from Quanzhou Fire Rescue Detachment to the scene for rescue. The heavy rescue team of the nearby Fire Rescue Detachment has been added for reinforcement.

Quanzhou and Licheng District governments are organizing search and rescue efforts, and 23 people have been rescued by 21:00.
