A Chinese teenager fell into his car in a river in south China's Guizhou Province, less than ten minutes after he successfully passed the driving test.

According to the British newspaper "The Sun", the young man, named Zhang, who does not have experience driving yet, picked up his phone as he drove the car to answer the messages of his friends who sent him to congratulate him on his passing the driving test. This led to his lack of focus on the road and his deviation from it, to avoid running over two people who were walking on the bridge.

The young man said that while he was taking his mobile phone and reading some messages, he saw two people in front of him on the road, and this led to his tension, and this prompted him to move the steering wheel to the left, which led to the car veering off the road and falling into the river.

The young man was able, fortunately for him, to escape from the car before it was drowned, but he was broken with his left shoulder, and he explained that he was unable to open his door, the driver's door, which forced him to open the door from the other side and exit.

For its part, the police managed to pull the car sunk into the river, and it has not yet been determined whether or not he will face punishment for the accident.

It is noteworthy that the maximum penalty for using the phone while driving in China is two points of the license and a fine of 200 yuan.
