Tokyo Metropolitan Government provides support for elementary school children's clubs and nursery schools to support expenses March 3 15:24

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will subsidize school children's clubs and daycare centers for elementary school students in the morning to secure a place for children who are temporarily closed due to measures against the new coronavirus.

Most elementary and junior high schools and special needs schools in Tokyo have been closed temporarily this week, and the city has decided to provide emergency support to school children's clubs and daycare centers to secure a place for children.

Specifically, if the schoolchild club accepts children in the morning or secures a dedicated space in a nursery school and takes care of elementary school students, we will support the cost of operation together with the municipalities.

In addition, elementary school children will be added to the list of babysitting users who already have a support system.

Governor Koike said at a meeting of the Task Force on March 3 that "We will work to prevent the spread of infection while considering measures to resolve the concerns of parents, putting the health and safety of children first."
