Liverpool Forest Park Created in Honor of George Harrison
For what would have been George Harrison's 77th birthday, his hometown of Liverpool decided to mark the occasion. The municipal council announced the creation of the George Harrison Woodland Walk, a promenade extending over approximately 5 ha in the middle of the forest. "It has always been one of my ambitions, as mayor, that the city pay tribute to one of his most beloved children," Joe Anderson told the BBC.
Art installations that will pay homage to the Beatle will also be on display. George Harrison died at the age of 58 in 2001.
