When help arrived, the readings still showed "high" levels of carbon monoxide. A concentration of this toxic and potentially deadly gas on a Nice site, due to "the use of thermal equipment in an enclosed space", led the firefighters of the Riviera to evacuate a building under construction on Boulevard Paul-Montel, in west of the city, this Tuesday afternoon.

The alert was given after the intoxication of two workers. The two men were transported to hospital, says the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) 06. More fear than harm for the fortnight of other people evacuated. "No trace of intoxication" was noted "for them", it is still specified.

"More than ever, we remind you that the use of thermal material must never be done in a closed place", also supported Sdis 06.
