China News Agency, Macau, February 23 (Reporter Long Tuyou) The Macao SAR Government's New Coronary Virus Infection Coordination Center said on the 23rd that, considering the recent increase in the number of diagnoses of new coronary pneumonia in South Korea, South Korea was listed as a high-risk area. Starting at 00:00 on February 24th, people who have visited Korea within 14 days before arriving in Australia will be arranged for medical observation.

The Coordination Center for New Coronavirus Infection Response held a press conference that afternoon to announce the latest epidemic situation and control measures for New Coronary Pneumonia in Macau.

Zeng Tanfei, Coordinator of the Emergency Department of the Earl General Hospital, said that there have been no new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Macau for 19 consecutive days. The number of confirmed cases has remained at 10, of which 6 have been discharged and 4 of them are still hospitalized.

Zeng Tanfei said that Macao has accumulated 1565 suspected cases (including 10 confirmed cases), of which 1,550 cases have been excluded, and 5 cases remain to be excluded. A total of 74 close contacts have been accumulated, of which 69 have been released from quarantine.

Liang Yihao, coordinator of the Department of Communicable Disease Control and Disease Surveillance of the Health Bureau, said that considering that the number of newly diagnosed coronal pneumonia in South Korea has increased sharply recently and there have been community outbreaks, the response coordination center has listed South Korea as a high-endemic area. Starting at 00:00 on February 24, people who have been to Korea within 14 days before arriving in Australia will be arranged to checkpoints for medical observation when entering Macau.

Liang Yihao said that the Coordination Center will continuously review the development of the epidemic situation in various regions of the world, and comprehensively consider and continuously evaluate local confirmed cases and measures taken to decide whether to list it as a high-incidence area.
