JR East resumed operation on the entire line after repairing a collapsed iron bridge on the Suizun Line, which was partially closed in Ibaraki Prefecture due to typhoon 19 last year. We have compiled a plan to be around summer.

The Kuji River on the JR Suigun Line was damaged by typhoon No. 19 in October last year, and the railway bridge between Fukuroda Station and Hitachi Daiko Station in Daigo-cho, Ibaraki Prefecture was severely damaged.

Buses are still running between Nishikina Station and Hitachi Daigo Station in Daigocho.

According to the JR East Mito branch office, after the construction of a new bridge, etc., the plan to resume operation on all lines in the summer of next year has been finalized.

The newly installed railway bridge will be raised by about 1 meter and 30 cm so that it can withstand the rising water of the river of the same scale as Typhoon No. 19, and one bridge girder standing in the river will be one from the previous six. We plan to increase safety by doing

In addition, of the sections that are currently out of service, a signal facility will be installed between Nishikin Station and Fukuroda Station so that it can be operated back, and operation is expected to resume in early July.

The JR East Mito Branch stated, "We would like to proceed with the construction as planned and aim for an early resumption."
