The “Al-Sirmi” team won the title of the first edition of the Emirates Falcon Hunting League, the latest and largest initiative of its kind from the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center.

"Al-Sirmi" won the title after defeating the thunderbolt team by four games without a response, in the eighth and final round that was held yesterday in Abu Dhabi. In the rest of the results that were held in the last round, Al-Shuaib defeated Al-Gharbi 3-1, Al-Wathba over Al-Tuff 4-0, and it defeated Al-Nukhba 3-1 and Habab Ali Habshan 3-1.

The Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, Sultan Al Mahmoud, confirmed that "this launch gave a different nature to the competition between the participants, and achieved great success, but there are always endeavors for development by monitoring all aspects related to the event."

He added, "This tournament constituted a motivation for the participants and a different style than usual. The reactions were positive, and aspirations are to continue to be more, given that two million dirhams of cash have been allocated."

For his part, Rashid bin Marakhan, Deputy CEO of the Center for Heritage Revival, Rashid bin Marakhan, expressed his happiness at seeing this idea being realized on the ground and reaping this success, adding: “The agreement between the center and the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club contributed to the establishment of the league competition through Clear and sufficient conditions, and through a strategy based on promoting the heritage, working to introduce society to this heritage sport, and attracting more practitioners, so that the league has resonated at the level of the country and the region ».

For his part, the director of the Institutional Support Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, Mohammed Abdullah bin Dalmouk, said that “the closing day was more than just a competition, it is a festive in every sense of the word and a meeting between the two falconers after a very beautiful season, and perhaps the most beautiful thing we followed in The event is the absence of tension, the dominance of sportsmanship, and cooperation between the two falconers.

At the end of the coronation ceremony, the Organizing Committee in Abu Dhabi presented memorial shields to the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, for its efforts, support and contribution to the success of the Emirates Falcon Hunting League in its first edition.

Special taste

Al-Sairami's captain, Al-Saqqar Khalfan Butti Al-Qubaisi, confirmed that winning the league title was achieved through joint efforts. He said: "Our team includes four falconers who are very united, and winning this competition has a special taste, and there are greater aspirations in the next versions as well."
