Top Chef returns to M6 for an 11th season on Wednesday. The show's star host, Stéphane Rotenberg, was the guest of Culture Media on Tuesday. He tells Philippe Vandel's microphone how the filming of the culinary show's finale turned sour because of gastro.

INTERVIEW

On the eve of the launch of the 11th season on M6, host Stéphane Rotenberg tells Europe 1's microphone about the cancellation of the shooting of the Top Chef final at the last minute. The cause: one of the finalists had a gastrointestinal illness. "One of the candidates had a gastrointestinal illness, diagnosed a few minutes before we start shooting," recalls Stéphane Rotenberg. "The doctor said that he could not cook, that he could contaminate the hundred volunteers of the Red Cross who each year choose the winner," said the host.

The shooting, which mobilized more than 100 people, was therefore canceled at the last minute. "There were 120 of us at the George V hotel, we had to readjust everyone, from chefs to cameramen, to journalists, and ask the insurer to take a good look at his contract, remind him that this is part of the clauses "jokes Stéphane Rotenberg.

"Things are back to normal"

Fans of the culinary show can rest assured: "A week later, the candidate was in great shape, it was gone," says the host, smiling. "Our general manager was in fusion. I saw him a week later, he was jovial. I understood that things were back to normal," he continues.

No more fear of harm, the final took place well. Kick-off of this 11th season Wednesday at 9 p.m. on M6.
