The Government dismisses Fernando Garea as president of Efe

The Government has dismissed the president of Efe, the journalist Fernando Garea, as he has informed himself through a statement to the workers of the public news agency.

Garea was proposed by the Government of Pedro Sánchez as the new president of the Efe Agency replacing José Antonio Vera last July 2018.

The journalist explained that it was the Secretary of State for Communication who last Saturday informed him of his termination 19 months after taking office.
