At around 2:30 pm on March 9, there was an accident where two boats came into contact during a race at the "Amagasaki Motorboat Racetrack" in Suimei-cho, Amagasaki City.

In this accident, Katsuya Matsumoto, 48, of Kita-ku, Kobe, was hit hard and taken to a hospital, but died.

The race consisted of three rounds of six boats around two points called "turn marks".

According to the police and others, on the second turn of the first lap, the boat came from behind on top of Matsumoto's boat and made contact.
