In the midst of resignations from chief medical officers, the Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, said on Wednesday that she would receive their representatives "mid-March", after the payment of new bonuses, to "see if there are any 'other measures necessary'. More than 500 practitioners have renounced their administrative and supervisory functions - while continuing to provide care - since January 27, according to a count by the Inter-Hospital Collective (CIH) arrested Tuesday evening. More than a hundred other resignations were expected Wednesday, especially in Seine-Saint-Denis.

During a first interview on January 17, "I already announced to all the doctors who express their dismay at this administrative resignation that I will see them again in March," said Agnès Buzyn on RMC and BFMTV. A new day of strike and demonstration is however planned for February 14, at the call of the CIH, the Inter-Emergency Collective and all the unions of the hospital public service.

Minister considers that much has already been done

But the Minister of Health believes she has already responded to their requests with the "Investing for the hospital" plan presented in November. "First I want us to take stock of how the reforms apply, including bonuses for staff," she explained. According to her, "200,000 hospital staff will receive a premium of 100 euros net per month" in February, with "a catch-up on the month of January", and will thus be able to note "that the measures are effective".

In addition, an "envelope of 150 million euros" was "delegated" to public establishments at the start of the year "so that working conditions improve". "The teams now need to take it over and send their requests back to the hospital directors for the equipment they need," added Agnès Buzyn. Her next meeting "with hospital doctors in mid-March" will be used to "see if there are other necessary measures", in particular "around hospital governance", the minister considers that it is necessary to " rework "to" give a lot more control to medical professionals ".
