A new kind of media arrives this Monday. The Webedia group is launching leLive, a hybrid halfway between a web TV and a social network, which will welcome both YouTube stars and personalities from television. Target ? Children under 35.

"LeLIVE is a new medium aimed at young people, mainly" Millennials "," said Thierry Boyer, director of LIVE at Puremédias (which belongs to Webedia), adding, "a fully-fledged medium where there is freedom of digital expression, tone and grammar ”. The launch is scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. and Live will then broadcast daily from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Almost 50 hours of original content per week

In addition to its own site (leliveonair.com) and its applications, the media is distinguished by its wide distribution on all platforms that count among millennials : TikTok, Twitch, Mixer, Molotov, YouTube, Facebook, Dailymotion, Instagram. The broadcast is planned live and in replay on video platforms and in the form of best-of and extracts on others. leLive will also be available in February on certain Samsung connected TVs.

The grid will offer nearly 50 hours of original content per week on major themes (news, humor, cinema, music, sport, video games), and promises "a style and freedom of tone that renew the audiovisual codes" .

From Norman to Michel Cymes

To host its programs, the media recruited a mixture of personalities from the Web such as Norman, Cyprien, Hugo Décrypte or Jhon Rachid and TV hosts and columnists like Agathe Auproux (ex-C8), Kevin Razy and Thomas Thouroude (ex-Canal +), the doctor Michel Cymes or the ex-Miss France and internal medicine Marine Lorphelin. These last two personalities will host a weekly program on health and well-being, called Dr Good , a variation of the eponymous paper magazine.

The multiplatform media relies on the notoriety of its recruits, who are already very popular on social networks, to gain visibility, but also on interactivity with Internet users. Thus, it promises to put the word of the spectators in the spotlight by allowing them "at any time" to "intervene live in the programs, take part in one of the games, give their opinion on a theme and exchange with the animators ”.

One of the heavyweights of the French Web

Webedia, one of the heavyweights of the French web, is both a network of youtubers, "web-influencers" and other stars of social networks (Norman, Cyprien, Natoo ...) and a galaxy of very popular websites (Allociné, JeuxVideo .com, 750g, Purepeople…).

The group, a subsidiary of Fimalac, indicated in mid-2019 that its objective was to double its turnover "within five years".
