Four teams had already validated their tickets for the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup on the fifth day of the group stage: US Agadir, Horoya, El Masry and Pyramids FC . They were joined by RS Berkhane, Al Nasr Benghazi, Zanaco and Enyimba.

Berkhane's Tunisians already had a quarter foot and all they needed was a simple 1-1 draw against Zanaco's Zambians to secure first place in Group C. A result that suited both teams since Zanaco was able to validate his qualification for the rest of the competition. With the same number of points (10) as the Zambians, the Motema Pembe may have regrets because it fails in third place in the group because of an unfavorable goal difference despite the Congolese 1-0 victory against Beninese from FC Esae.

Paradou corrects Agadir

In group B, Al Nasr Benghazi went to grab second place in the pool behind Horoya despite the 0-2 defeat they suffered against the Guineans on Sunday. The Malians of Djoliba can be blamed because with the same number of points (8) and a better goal difference, they finish third in the group because of their defeat against Al Nasr on the fifth day.

In Group D, Agadir had already secured first place in the pool and the Nigerians from Enyimba had to draw at least to be sure of finishing second. They successfully completed the mission by defeating San Pedro 5-2. At the same time, Paradou, in the fight for second place, managed to beat Agadir 3-0 for this last match, but the feat of the Algerians will have been in vain because of the victory of Enyimba.
