5.3 magnitude earthquake occurs in Japan

According to seismologists, the quake epicenter was located 6 km west of the city of Ushiku in the Japanese prefecture of Ibaraki.

The center of the earthquake lies at a depth of 69.7 km.

Information about possible destruction and the threat of the tsunami was not received.
