A police officer left a live ammunition in the Narita Airport toilet Chiba Jan 25 13:56

A police officer of the Chiba Prefectural Police said on Tuesday that he had left a handgun and handcuffs containing live ammunition in the toilet at Narita Airport. Both were found by airline employees and reported to the police.

According to police, a 26-year-old male police officer belonging to the Chiba Prefectural Police's Narita International Airport Guards dropped off at around 4.30 pm on April 24 during a break, with live guns, handcuffs, and batons on the floor of the men's toilet at the airport. I misplaced the belt attached.

The toilet was in an area accessible only to airport personnel, and a few minutes later the airline employee who entered the toilet found it and reported it to the police.

Daisuke Hirokawa, General Manager of the Narita International Airport Guard, commented, "We must do our best to provide thorough guidance and prevent recurrence in the future."

In March 2015, the Chief of Police at the Narita International Airport Guard forgot to place pistols and other items in the airport toilets and received a warning.
