Queen, "one of the most iconic rock bands of all time", launches a series of pieces dedicated to the legends of music, underlines the royal institute of the British currency, Royal Mint, on its Internet site.

The drawing of the piece brings together the instruments of each of the founding members of the group: the red guitar of Brian May, the bass of John Deacon, the drums of Roger Taylor and the piano of Freddie Mercury (grand piano Bechstein), whose keys play notes from the start of Bohemian Rhapsody . In the center is the inscription "Queen", underlined by a microphone.

"A real honor"

“It's really a moment when we think:“ Who could have imagined such a thing? ”For us. When we started, even the first rung of the ladder of fame seemed unattainable, "said Brian May in a statement from the record label Universal. "That our group and our music are recognized in this way is very touching, and a real honor," he added.
