Media reported yesterday that a Colombian man had allegedly kidnapped him to avoid marriage.

Friends of the 55-year-old man told the police of his alleged kidnapping in the southern Colombian town of Petalito, last weekend. They said that two gunmen arrived on a motorbike and kidnapped the groom, hours before his wedding. The police conducted investigations and closed the roads leading out of the city, and then found the groom at the home of one of his relatives, a police spokesman told the Caracol Channel. The El Tempo newspaper reported that the man's friends who reported the false kidnapping admitted their lies. They said they wanted to help the man who "did not want to know anything about weddings."

It was the second time that the man had allegedly kidnapped him falsely to avoid marriage.
