The eight-meter-high wooden statue of the US president, erected in a village outside Slovenian Ljubljana last fall, has been burnt down. Artist Thomaž Schlegl called the sculpture "Statue of liberty" because he thinks "Trump personifies total freedom, because he has shown that he can do and say what he wants without being held accountable".
Schlegl got the idea for the statue after a similar wooden sculpture by the first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, who is from Slovenia, was erected in her hometown. He believes that the political situation is the reason for the fire.
