“We have to put people back on the trains. As the strike continues and many travelers are betting on carpooling or buses, the SNCF is trying to recover some of its customers. The company has decided to sell 400,000 low-priced train tickets, reports Europe 1.

"We need people to trust us again," says SNCF. And this therefore involves interesting promotions for travelers. If it is rather usual that the company offers reductions during this sales period, the reductions will be much more numerous this year.

Very affordable rates

“Before the strikes, last-minute tickets ranged from 80 euros to 130 euros. There, (…) I paid the outward journey 16 euros, and the return approximately 25 ”, declared a traveler questioned with the microphone of Europe 1. This Thursday, this one reserved a round trip for Strasbourg, to edge of a Ouigo.

“I thought the train was going to be full, but a third of the seats were empty. A colleague (…) told me that in general one way costs 100 euros, and overnight the prices are relatively low, around 55 euros, ”he added. Customers seem to be meeting for the month of May because reservations are multiplying, explains the SNCF, whose comments are relayed by Europe 1.
