After she kept carrying it in her hands for nine days after he died, monkeys from the Bonobo family in the German city of Frankfurt Zoo bid farewell to her dead son.

The zoo announced on its Facebook page today that the Naimbe monkeys have carried their son Zikomo since he died on New Year's Eve until yesterday, adding that the zoo’s animal care team has now managed to remove the body of the dead monkey from the barn.
It is not clear what caused the death of the little monkey.

According to the data spokesperson for the garden, the pregnancy of the great apes of their deceased children is completely normal behavior, indicating that the mother, as well as the rest of the herd, bid farewell to the deceased.
