For several January hours, the world was in anticipation of the Third World War. This was already the case in the summer of 2018, when the States escalated hysteria around North Korea. Trump boasted that he was not afraid of a fight with the "bad guy" Kim Jong-un. Moreover, all this is not for the sake of the fight itself, but only for justice and general prosperity.
Then Trump unveiled the classic storyline of making North Korea the main and fanatical enemy of America to an inconceivable intensity. From Kim Jong-un himself he was actively making a Hollywood supervillain, who started to destroy the world. They escalated - and as a result, the “heroic” Trump stopped the apocalypse, almost like in a blockbuster based on the superhero comic book. Then there was a meeting of leaders, a shake of hands and 48 minutes of personal communication, after which the American president said that they spoke "very, very good."
In the heat of relations, there was also a connection with Iran. Trump met with the North Korean leader, calmed his own tantrum, to start cheating another. It was then that America went to the unilateral severance of agreements with Iran, as a result of which Europe remained in a stupid position. And Trump switched from one enemy to another.
However, in that recent situation with North Korea, although they rattled rockets, they were not launched. Now, Iran’s missile attack on US military bases in response to the assassination of the legendary general has become a completely new and unexpected element in world politics. There were no losses among the US military after the strike, and Trump again deduced his own optimism formula: "everything is fine, everything is going fine." Almost like after meeting with Eun.
As a result, as Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian Parliament, noted, the American leader “rolled back” and returned “the situation around Iran to the political plane”. Can this be called a correction of one’s own mistakes? Hard to tell. External impulsiveness and unpredictability, but pragmatics are behind it. It consists in demonstrating a frank act of state terrorism: the killing of one of the national leaders of a sovereign state. Of all the motivations, the most convincing are the considerations of the electoral plan. In order to throw dust in the eyes of his own voter.
Murder for the sake of voices. Voices paid in blood. Such, as we see, is the reality of American politics, everything else is virtual.
In this connection, one recalls how one rejoiced at “universal values” and new thinking during the years of perestroika in the Soviet Union. It was stated that the contradiction of systems was over, that the Cold War was a thing of the past, the East and the West took steps from confrontation to cooperation in order to build a non-violent peace together. The Soviet Union left the political arena, and the era of the latest political thinking has come. His main toolkit is in the arsenal: speculation, forgery, fraud, lawlessness, the dictates of force with threats and blackmail. All this was fully demonstrated by the States during the current crisis.
The latest political thinking, in contrast to the idealistic new thinking, proclaimed at one time by the Gorbachev team, is extremely pragmatic and cynical. It rests on the primacy of elective demagoguery with elements of the show, serial and spectacular wrestling to the public. However, in stock there are chips, and actually chilling blood ...
Someone applauds all of this: here is the triumph of a non-violent peace, which allowed Trump to get away from traditional logic and avoid declaring war. However, all this gives away in very dangerous games with a grenade, which is thrown through the fire, then they hammer on it with a hammer.
These games and the virtuality of what is happening create a false feeling when the coast is lost, any norms are violated, red lines are crossed, and this is the trouble. But Trump is either a wrestler or a tightrope walker, balancing over the situation, artificially bringing it to the utmost tension.

By the way, the Iranian reaction, which fits into the format of conservative thinking, is noteworthy. Not seeing the American victims, Iran began to reproach for fake shelling. But we don’t want a big war, especially near Russia, and here is not a game simulator and not a joystick in hand. Iran doesn’t want to either, there are healthy people, not fanatics. Therefore, they did not go to vileness, but were warned by the Iraqi authorities, demonstrated determination, and not at all the desire to pour rivers of blood.
Why were such games needed with a premonition of an apocalypse? Trump provokes, and at a safe distance, probes the soil and awaits a response. Everything is in the same wrestling. According to Slutsky, Trump’s rollback “can be associated both with protests within the United States, including from political opponents of Trump, and with a sharp reaction from the international community.” Again, it can be assumed that the American president kills Suleimani in order to avoid the war, which, as a rule, was unleashed by his predecessors. Bring the situation to the limit, and then stop in time.
Now what? The usual bagpipe about new hellish sanctions, or sanctions from hell, as well as the expectation of meanness, a blow, as in the case of Suleimani, stealthily.
This is in the format of American modern thinking, in which, as Leonid Slutsky noted, “soothing rhetoric” often “diverged from subsequent actions.”
On the one hand, theatricality, and on the other - reality: real troubles, grief and blood. When this connects, a snuff is obtained - a video of the murder, made for entertainment or other purposes. This was threatened by ISIS militants *. Apparently, the States in the spirit of their newest thinking do not disdain with similar methods. They are not ready to go to more serious games with the apocalypse. Maybe for now. Therefore, the joy that there will be no war is overshadowed by grave forebodings and fears. Here, after all, as in the situation with a gun hanging on the wall, sooner or later, anything can happen.
