His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, announced the establishment of the Sharjah Prize for Literary Poetry Criticism, devoted to studies on poetry criticism, in addition to its role in criticizing the poems of young poets, and evaluating their poetic creations to advance their poetic productions, and put young poets on The right way, in the context of His Highness’s keenness on everything that would serve Arab poetry, and upgrading poetic talents and poets, especially the younger generation.

This came during the meeting that gathered His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah with the guests of the Sharjah Festival of Arabic Poetry in its 18th session, yesterday morning, in the circuit of Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi.

His Highness started his meeting by welcoming the festival's guests, pointing out that we can catch up with the civilizational rides that we are seeing in other countries in their interest in the fields of poetry and culture.

He expressed his happiness that Arab poetry was not subjected to deformation or loss, as it was placed in safe hands, represented in the poetry houses in the Arab world, which sought to advance Arab poetry, and serve poets and their literary creativity, and extended to include all forms of culture.

For their part, the guests of the Sharjah Festival of Arab Poetry extended their sincere thanks to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his great efforts and initiatives in the service of Arab culture, poetry and poets, appreciating his initiative in creating an award on poetic criticism, which is unique in the Arab world, and seeks to improve poetry , And support the generation of young poets, and direct them to serve their poems and poetry creations. His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, toured the corridors of the home of Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi, with the guests of the Sharjah Festival of Arabic Poetry, as they were briefed on the most important historical contents, documents and manuscripts included in the circuit, in addition to the halls of decorations and souvenirs, received by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah from various Heads of state, international organizations and universities.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, yesterday, opened the literary café building in Al Hirah, Sharjah Beach. His Highness visited the two-storey building, which was implemented by the Public Works Department, which contains a number of halls and councils that receive various classes of writers, in addition to a library equipped with specialized periodicals and references in various forms of literature, and a number of administrative offices.

The literary café aims to create a free space for writers to exchange ideas, discuss their issues, and show their creativity and intellectual achievements with each other in a friendly atmosphere, as its front façade overlooks a panoramic view of Sharjah Beach.

And His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah wanted from this literary café in the confusion of Sharjah to be an extension of what was rumored and known about the confusion of Numan, in order to attract writers, prepare their books, and publish them.

His Highness also instructed the Department of Culture to provide the café with the periodicals issued by it, and instructed the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority to sponsor and support the activities of the café, by broadcasting and advertising it in the various channels of the commission.
