The launch of the German site Arretmaladie.fr is to be announced on Tuesday, but the platform is already controversial. It offers "sick leave without traveling", a "reimbursable (under conditions)", "fast and reliable" service and documents "online in PDF", indicates the portal's home page. French doctors initially believed in a joke, explains BFMTV.

For simple pathologies

The offer is however very serious. It will therefore be possible to obtain sick leave for up to three days after a telemedicine consultation in a few clicks. Only "simple and common pathologies" can be diagnosed. Arretmaladie.fr sends a digital prescription to the patient and sends the necessary documents to the employer and to Social Security.

The platform highlights its association with Docteursecu.fr, a French medical teleconsultation service opened last October. However, the portal managers deny any partnership. "This service exists in Germany, they contacted us for advice, we explained very different French regulations to them," says Loïc Petitprez, founder and managing director of Docteursecu.fr. It is nevertheless through this website that users of Arretmaladie.fr must go before the remote consultation with a doctor.

Health insurance to sue

Health professionals are angry at the existence of the German service. "This site is a shame, it is the caricature of care", accuses the president of the Federation of Doctors of France Jean-Paul Hamon. Jérôme Marty, president of the French Union for Free Medicine (UFML), regrets the “commodification of the care system which makes the patient pass for a client and the doctor as a service provider”.

Health insurance, it should sue the site before the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Paris. "We will first go to an interim body to send a signal, then we will go to the bottom, and we will use all the legal channels. We are witnessing a deviation from the act of prescription of the work stoppage, which becomes a product of commercial appeal ”, underlined with Les Echos , Nicolas Revel, the director of the National Health Insurance Fund.
